TEHRAN – The Combatant Clergy Association will endorse a presidential candidate only after the qualification process by the Guardian Council has been completed and final candidates are known, the association’s spokesman said.

Asked about the association’s position regarding the most well-known candidates, Qolamreza Mesbahi Moqaddam told ISNA on Wednesday that the issue was hotly debated in the clerical body’s most recent meeting.

“In the end we agreed to leave announcing our position when qualification results are announced by the Guardian Council.”
